Re: The Jason Isbell Thread

Haven't seen it, but my brother and his wife did and loved it.

Apparently Jason doesn't sing the song in the movie, but the actor who does nailed it. Bradley Cooper, right?

Re: The Jason Isbell Thread

i saw it, also enjoyed it. iím by no means a movie buff and enjoy all the sappy music movies so take that for what itís worth.

Yeah, Bradley Cooper sings it in the film and on the soundtrack. itís a cool song, wouldíve fit well on the Nashville Sound IMO. Kind of fits with the context / message of that record.

I think neither is a good mix of what he's capable of.

live from 1979 or live from alabama?

because live from 1979 is fucking sweet, but mostly not his songs.

the problem with live albums is they tend to focus on “the hits”, and the big fans want some deeper cuts/fan favorites.

driving down to nashville and seeing him at the ryman this saturday night, pretty fired up for that.

Re: The Jason Isbell Thread

So I saw Jason live a few weeks ago and it was an absolutely amazing show. Tim is right, these albums don't really capture the essence of how good of a performer he is. I think this is fine, but I did like Live from Alabama more. Take out The Life You Chose or Cumberland Gap and put in a live performance of Never Gonna Change
