Re: 2012 Summer Olympics

I enjoyed when the Olympics were in Sydney because there was stuff to watch late at night. Same reason I always enjoy the Ashes being in Australia.

Re: 2012 Summer Olympics

I think most events will end around 6pm or 7pm here, so the broadcasters here just give the people not watching online a 3 hour nugget of coverage in primetime.

The Atlantic has a run-down on how people in the US can follow it: http://www.theatlanticwire.com/natio...lympics/55003/

They also have a liveblog: http://www.theatlanticwire.com/globa...ve-blog/55007/

Re: 2012 Summer Olympics

The BBC are showing every event live, available either online or through countless TV channels through Sky or Interactive TV.

The North Koreans beat the Colombians 2-0 despite the Flag faux pas. What a wonderful wedding gift for their Dear Leader.

She did indeed. Although I'm not sure how many guys made it all the way through to the end of the video once the jiggling stopped.

Re: 2012 Summer Olympics

Jesus. Minus the two black dudes (one of whom is in a wheelchair. +500 Diversity Points!), that team USA photo should say Wonderbread.

All the crazy pattern uniforms make my head hurt. You looked cooler in the '80s, Russia.

Belize apparently just got The Music Man down in their country.

Where's Sweden. I require tall Scandinavian blondes.

Re: 2012 Summer Olympics

Lovely article from The Times about some of the least successful countries in Olympic history. Puts a bit of perspective on all the gold medal hype.

Maybe there will also be mechanical malfunctions like in Vancouver. Gretzky was not impressed. I think it rained there too.

It's stopped now.

Is it showing live in the US? I heard it was on a delay.

Nope, not live in the US. They're saving it for prime time. All events are online though, but there probably aren't any going on during the opening ceremony.

I remember being crazy impressed with the Beijing opening ceremony. I'll have to catch some of the London one.

Unfortunate moment for the Germans.
