I did love that Spiritualized album a bit, and of course Kamasi is a King, but I already lived and breathed The Epic and I couldn't get my mind-space into another super intense jazz intergalactic quest this year (especially after the EP last year was choice - my cup runneth for a while on all that Kamasi jazz juice).

Re: 2018 Top Ten lists (users)

Shoot, it's already the end of the year. As usual, I don't think I took in 10 records and none of them would really rank AoTY compared to any of my favourites.

What have I liked....

The opening track of the Superchunk is great, but I rarely spin the whole album.
I like the new Elvis Costello, but it's more mellow mood music.
Freedom's Goblin is really great. Everything Ty does is great, but there's a sameness to his records.

I've only heard samples of the other records this year... never was grabbed enough to pick them up.

Still looking forward to Jeff Tweedy's Warm.

that new ben larsen is on here for me. if you all haven't check him out and are a big ryan or isbell or gai fan then you'll love Larsen....

GAI
isbell at the ryman
wheeler walker jr (new single “fuck you w/ the lights on” is key)
A star is born (OST)
ruston kelly
garth brooks triple live
nathaniel rateliff
brandi carlile
ben larsen
and, even though i’ve only heard the bootleg versions…

Bruce is releasing his Broadway performance next week…so that is definitely on my list for 2018

Sun Kil Moon - This Is My Dinner

There were lots of albums that I was excited about when they came out... but they didn't really have any sticking power. I really liked that Beach House song 'Alien' and Help Yourself and Walkin On Eggshells from Courtney Barnett

John Prine's album was okay. My girlfriend really liked Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour.

But this new year looks to be way different for what I enjoy. 3 Ryan albums CONFIRMED, 2-3 Sun Kil Moon / Mark Kozelek albums, new Lemonheads, rumored to be 2 new My Bloody Valentine albums coming soon, maybe some new Cure...?
