Not a good sign. I was really hoping he had been in rehab or a situation where he was getting some help.

I don’t think he’s referring to sexual assault and domestic abuse.

Watching those clips he's been posting on IG, I really wish he could have made it work with Benny Yurco. I preferred him to Todd.

I love his fills on Outbound Train. https://archive.org/details/ryanadam...-12-06t07.flac

I'm not sure that "Charles Manson has a new album out but Ryan doesn't" is the big touche moment you keep aiming for.

I mean. The article? He’s clearly talking about politics.

As for the rest, I assume you are talking about the original NYT article about RA (it was a weird transition). Quality of the writing aside, everything in that article tracks if you’ve been a fan for over 10 years. But that’s fine, if people want to keep liking him, go for it. Live your life.

This is what you posted earlier in this thread. Bizarre that you can hold views like that and still think you are entitled to the moral high ground. I'm sorry the world frightens you so much. I'm also sorry I didn't make your initial ban permanent.

jesus fucking christ. ryan adams walked on this sidewalk, lets tear it up. ryan adams slept in this hotel, time to tear it down. this new sensitive society we live in is fucked. honestly i don't care if he killed one of those cunts. it doesn't change my opinion of his music

Re: Ryan Adams, abuse, the Stans, and people who believe no apology is good enough

forgot about that gem.

Obviously these are the extremes but it’s still really interesting that lines of defense for these people’s fanhood for Ryan Adams is

1) Id support Ryan’s music even if he murdered these women!

2) Even Charles Manson released a record!

Like, thanks people I am now suddenly convinced that 3,214 text messages to a minor he picked on twitter now has no bearing on my interpretation or support of his music.

Re: Ryan Adams, abuse, the Stans, and people who believe no apology is good enough

He did in July. But nothing really since.

"“I have a lot to say. I am going to. Soon.
Because the truth matters.
It’s what matters most.
I know who I am. What I am.
It's time people know.
Past time.

All the beauty in a life cannot be reduced to rubble for confusion, ignoring truths that destroy all the good in us.
This madness and misunderstanding.
There’s enough of that in this world
My work was always meant to be a map for the lost. I’ve tried my best to be open and accountable. Not a billboard. I mean, maybe for being flawed. I’ve always wanted to help. I’m trying.
So, soon... because it’s time to get back to what I do best. I’m here for the music, for the love and for making things better.

I didn’t have an easy life. I lost my brother the day the Prisoner Tour ended. Every night wondering if he would be alive. He was proud of me. My family and my friends were there for that. And so many great fans. For the Meineres community who suffer every day. This music was for then.
It mattered. And that was always for it to help.

So let’s do that. THAT will matter. The amends made and things lost in the noise, that should’ve mattered too.
I want to be a part of that healing. To go play have some great shows and put out these badass records.

Believe Women.
Believe Truth.
But never give up on being part of solutions, and healing.
I’ve lost friends who have passed away in this time of self reflection and silence. I can’t be like that. There’s been too much that mattered.
Thank you for your kindness, your support and for this time I needed to decide how I could be a part of a better tomorrow for everybody.
Sometimes that peace comes from opening yourself up.
That’s who I want to be.

Here’s to that.
With love and with faith-
In all of us and our best and our faults
RA"
