2019 Album Trilogy

Thought the news of 3 albums deserved its own thread.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

First album is titled "Big Colors". How quickly this will be released is anyones guess. Hopefully as it has Blue Note/ Capitol distribution it will be released in the next few months.

Would love to see a surprise release but Im not so sure it will happen quickly. I think for an artist like Ryan they will want a good bit of publicity and build up.

Plus they will want to do pre orders on six different lp colors from various different retailers.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

Nebraska homage. Nice. Hopefully it’s a similar vibe.

yeah someone commented how he mimics album art a lot.

it’s also interesting how he’s breaking the news through reporters

Now this is very exciting. Not bothered about the recent stuff from the vaults but something new is great.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

I've got my "cautiously optimistic" hat on now... I'm hopeful, very hopeful this will happen. Hell, I'll be happy with two albums, but let's go all out. Let's do this!

And yeah, that trilogy back in 2005... man, that was a good year.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

This is a promising development - as a huge Springsteen fan who loves Nebraska I certainly hope it follows in a similar, stripped down model.
Wonder why he is going through the reporter route, too

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

Man, that looks great. A Nebraska Ryan Adams album. Hopefully it will be three different sounding records. The tweets also suggests that Don Was and Benmont Tench were involved in this record. Could it be the second Glynn Johns album?

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

Not sure what I think of that Wednesdays sleeve. Doesn't look as polished as Big Colors. Doesn't look like final artwork but I don't know. I see the Nebraska similarity, if it has that sound then I agree, that would be great.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

The wide range of reactions to the artwork is amazing. Let's just say, some of us have VERY different tastes

Super pumped about this trio, seems a little more "firm" than some of his previous proclamations. Hoping there's a little something for everyone here

Breaking everything with political reporters on Twitter is certainly an interesting strategy. He just added this: https://twitter.com/TheRyanAdams/sta...57726902542336

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

April 19

We've got the track list for Adams's album “BIG COLORS,” produced by Beatriz Artola, Ryan Adams, and Don Was, set to be released April 19, 2019:

1. Big Colors

2. Do Not Disturb

3. It's So Quiet, It's Loud

4. (Expletive) the Rain

5. Doylestown Girl

6. Dreaming You Backwards

7. I Surrender

8. What Am I

9. Power

10. Showtime

11. In It For The Pleasure

12. Middle of the Line

13. I'm Sorry and I Love You

14. Manchester

15. Summer Rain

From Don Was, another Power Up friend: “I wish everyone could witness the awe-inspiring sight of Ryan Adams recording in the studio . . . the endless flow of brilliant ideas is mind blowing and he's clearly tapped into the deepest reaches of the Creative Ether. His forthcoming album(s) elevate his art form to a whole new stratosphere and it's an honor and a thrill for all of us at Blue Note Records to work with him. Oh yeah . . . one other thing: he's the most underrated guitarist in rock n roll.”

I just saw this too. I’m surprised the release date is that far out but at least we have a date finally!

Oh man. When this was first announced, I threw out my typical "yeah, okay we'll see" response. But yesterday I became hopeful for the first time in a long time.

I knew So Quiet, It's Loud sounded really familiar! But then I convinced myself I was thinking of "So Hot, So Cold".
