Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

no, i get that. i meant the string and ‘play out’ section at the end of the RA track.

The riff reminds me of 'This is the last time' by The National.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

This seems to seamlessly pick up where Prisoner left off. Had a few listens and enjoyed it, agree with the comments about the strings. Would have liked them to have been a bit louder in the mix though.

Thank you! I’ve been going crazy trying to figure out what it reminded me of

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

Listening now and I’m a big fan, but then again I was picked up on the Prisoner wagon so that it follows in a similar sound is great for my preferences! As for the synth/string, I remember he posted a video on social media of a string section a few months ago, if that helps!
Agree with what others have said regarding Wednesday - that’s shaping up to definitely have more of a country vibe to it

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

I didn't like this much, sadly. The outro is the best part.

I'm all for earnest lyrics, but this one seems a bit much. Sounds like something from the Foggy era, where he was just writing incredibly personal stuff to amuse/unburden himself. It's fine if there is better stuff on the record, but I'm hoping this isn't reflective of everything we're getting.

Didn’t look through the whole thread but here’s the song “Boylestown Girl”, which was only played on a station near Boylestown, PA.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

I liked it ok. A little tired of the way the drums on his albums are mixed lately. This seems no different. Still solid though and looking forward to the rest.

Theory: I think releasing the song and only playing it in PA is an attempt to get her back.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere on the forum that she is from Doylestown too right (maybe when some of the tracks were posted this summer)? So the first single is her song I’m guessing. Gonna check it out now, haven’t had a chance to listen yet.

Re: 2019 Album Trilogy

Just had my first two listens; thought it was a good start to the year. Enjoyed the track, although at just about 2m45s it's a short one for sure... kinda wanted more; another verse maybe? However, with these long track listings, maybe a lot of these will be shorter songs... time will tell. As others have said, the outro was nice; the swell of the strings just felt right.
