Finally got my hands on this yesterday (good work, Australian music stores), and I gotta say, on first listen... my favourite of this little quasi-trilogy that Bob has been putting out over the last few years. I found Silver Age and Beauty and Ruin to be fine, but very samey/too Sugar-y to keep me coming back that often. This one has some of those poppy ragers, sure, but they're spliced in between other songs that are more (in my opinion) interestingly written and different, sonically speaking. Personally, I'm keen to see Bob move past this period and hopefully on to something new and fresh. In the meantime, happy to keep spinning Patch The Sky.

I like it. I prefer Beauty & Ruin at the moment, but that could change. I agree about Silver Age... good singles, but too similar to keep me engaged for the whole record.
