your top 5 soundtracks

in no particular order:

1. Into the Wild
2. Hedwig and the Angry Inch
3. Henry Poole is Here (I just watched this last week and realized it has some good shit on it--putting it in the need to buy list)
4. Once (why not)
5. Phantom of the Paradise

not sure about a top 5, but Garden State is definitely on there. Good Will Hunting might be too.

I think I've only listened to the soundtracks to About A Boy, Forrest Gump and Garden State. I guess I'm not a fan of soundtracks.

How could I have A Hard Day's Night and then forget Help! Durr. Help! would be on mine too.

Re: your top 5 soundtracks

Thank you for this awesome thread, BKK. I have been on a crazy soundtrack kick lately (I keep finding all kinds of gold, like the Reservoir Dogs OST earlier this week, for $1 or so).

I'll need to think about this for a bit.. I might go over five, though (I'll try not to.)

Re: your top 5 soundtracks

I have a habit of buying horror movie soundtracks because they're awesome.
But, the soundtracks I have and can remember off the top of my head are:
The Wedding Singer
Pulp Fiction
Trainspotting
Empire Records
American Pie 2
Romeo & Juliet (previously the only album that had Talk Show Host, as far as I know. I love that song) and R&J 2
Bride of Chucky
Singles
She's The One

Shit, I can't remember them all.
But by far the best is:

Valentine.

Dude, it has the Deftones, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Orgy, Manson, even Sean Lennon, etc.

edit: oh, sorry. I didn't read the "Top 5" part. But, I am too lazy to fix it.

True story, Coal Miner's Daughter was the first DVD and second vinyl I ever bought. Sissy was flawless as Loretta. I hold that film dear to my heart.. it's a definite classic.

Oh, I also highly recommend the OST Strange Weirdos: Music from and inspired by the film Knocked Up.. it's mostly all Loudon Wainwright songs, and it is awesome.
