Re: your top 5 soundtracks

No order:

About a Boy
Into the Wild
Singles
Donnie Darko (But, I made my own from the songs in the film. I had the official one as well, but it only had the score and "Mad World")
Garden State

When I was in middle school, I listened the the Dream a Little Dream soundtrack over and over!

Re: your top 5 soundtracks

it's weird, I've never been a Pearl Jam fan but Eddie Vedder solo in Into the Wild is totally my cup of tea...though I find myself yearning for some harmonica action.

Someone who knew the Monkees are one of my guilty pleasures recommended that to me a while back. I just Wikied it...Frank Zappa, Carole King ...looks like I need to get this.

Sorry, I don't really listen to soundtracks so I'm otherwise useless in this thread.

Re: your top 5 soundtracks

I guess there's a difference sometimes too between soundtrack actually played in the movie and soundtrack you could buy as an 'album' ...

I forgot Pump up the Volume. I loved it as a teen. Half Nelson did have a good soundtrack. I might have to look that up. Little Miss Sunshine and Away We Go are pretty good as well.

Re: your top 5 soundtracks

Oooh this will be tough, I'm sure I own any ST's currently...

The one y'all missed that is incredible from front to back is...

Repo Man!

Hedwig is amazing...

The Star Wars 4,5,6 are still a good representation of your romantic opera traditions of Wagner and Strauss (with alittle Holst thrown in), complete with leitmotivs for each character in the story....

IF there is a soundtrack to Matthew Barney's Kremaster Cycle.... Mark Bepko (sp?) creates a sonic weave that easily matches the film in skillful imagery!

Got to love Natural Born Killers for getting Leonard Cohen back into the hearts and minds of the young...

there, that's 5, whew!

I still don't have it yet, so I didn't think about it. With these list things, I always mentally go through my CD collection.
