Quote:
Singer songwriter Ryan Adams kicks off the 2013 Teenage Cancer Trust Royal Albert Hall shows with special guest Beth Orton.

Ryan Adams's critically and commercially successful albums both as a solo artist and with the Cardinals have included Heartbreaker (2000), Gold (2001), Love Is Hell (2004), Cold Roses (2005), Easy Tiger (2007), and most recently Ashes & Fire, released last year to his highest UK chart numbers to date and supported by a sold out UK tour.

BRIT Award-winning English singer-songwriter Beth Orton was initially recognised for her collaborations with William Orbit and the Chemical Brothers in the mid 1990s. Orton developed a devoted audience with the release of the albums Central Reservation (1999) and the 2002 UK top 10 album, Daybreaker. After six years away, two children, a marriage and returning to Norfolk, the twice Mercury Music Prize-nominated singer is back. Sugaring Season, her sixth album, is the culmination of Orton finding herself as a guitarist and a songwriter.

Re: Royal Albert Hall, London (19th March, 2013)

Just updated the set list.

Two new songs but they haven't surfaced on youtube yet. Mixed reports over on RAA. Good but something lacking seems to be the verdict.

Excited about these new songs too!! Apparently reminiscent of Trains vibe.

Someone on RAA said the show has been taped.

Not sure what I think about the Train comparison. The first record they cut was great, but everything after sucked the nut. My opinion, of course.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Don't know what I was thinking.

Re: Royal Albert Hall, London (19th March, 2013)

Was there last night and it was.... argh... words just aren't enough... SENSATIONAL! Ryan was on the best form that I've ever seen him and the band were incredible. Ethan Johns is an absolute legend.

You know those 5* gigs that come around once in a blue moon? Well this was one of those. There was just something in the air.

Not sure I agree with the Trains (the song ) comparison but the new vampire/Cadillac song (don't know the name) sounded great.
